World War Z - additional road restrictions in West George Street and George Square

Tuesday 23 August between 5.00 am and 2.00 pm

After five days filming, the World War Z production company has found that ironically the excessively sunny Scottish weather has meant that they have not been able to film the crucial sequence for which they required Sunday's road closure on West George Street and George Square.

Without it they cannot film the rest of the sequence and are not in a position to wait for the next extended road closure of George Square this Sunday as they would have 1000 crew not being able to do anything for 5 days.

With their sincere apologies this means that there will be an additional closure in West George Street and George Square on Tuesday 23 August between 5.00 am and 2.00 pm.

Please be advised that access will be granted for all deliveries.

The Police will assist exists onto George Square and out into St Vincent Place.

The scheduled closure will go ahead as planned this Sunday 28 August 2011.

If you have any questions about the filming or any requirements that need to be addressed (deliveries, window cleaning, fire alarm tests etc) please don't hesitate to contact the Locations Team on 07854 225777.
