Rules of Entry

  1. The Glasgow Business Awards are free to enter for Glasgow Chamber of Commerce members and all businesses based in Glasgow and the surrounding area. For the Best Performing Business (1-10 employees) and Best Performing Business (11-50 employees) categories only, entries are restricted to businesses operating from business premises within the Glasgow City Council boundary. Businesses owned by parent companies or groups based outwith Glasgow may also enter provided that the Glasgow organisation can demonstrate a significant degree of autonomy over its operations, policies and strategies.
  2. Award sponsors or companies affiliated with award sponsors may not enter the category they sponsor.
  3. Entries are treated in confidence.
  4. Supporting information is not permitted unless it forms part of the entry document e.g. testimonials. A maximum of 5 insertions (e.g. tables, graphs or photos) may be included within the entry form. Please be aware that any website links used within your entry will not be activated by the judges.
  5. Entries will be judged at two stages by an impartial panel of judges.
  6. Award winners will be announced at the Awards gala dinner on 3 October 2013.
  7. Entry to more than one category is allowed.
  8. Incomplete entries will not be judged.
  9. All entries will be acknowledged on receipt. Entry forms will become the property of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce and entries will not be returned.
  10. Proof of sending entry (by email) is not proof of receipt.
  11. Glasgow Chamber of Commerce reserve the right to withdraw an award from any applicant supplying false information within their entry. Judges reserve the right to audit any information supplied.
  12. The closing date for entries is 5.00 pm on Friday 28 June 2013.
  13. The judges' decisions are final and while feedback may be provided, no correspondence will be entered into. In certain cases, shortlisted organisations may be required to submit sets of audited accounts as supplementary information and/or a site visit may be requested.
  14. Finalists for the award categories will receive two complimentary tickets to attend The Glasgow Business Awards 2013 Dinner and Awards Ceremony, to be held at the Thistle Glasgow Hotel on Thursday 3 October 2013, when the winner in each category will be announced. A maximum number of two complimentary tickets per finalist will be issued, regardless of the number of categories they are shortlisted for.
  15. Information supplied will be shared with the judging panel and all information will be treated as confidential. It will not be used for any purpose other than judging the competition. Finalist organisations may be included in related media coverage and may be required to take part in promotional activities about the Glasgow Business Awards.
