    Subsequent to risk assessment within the workplace, employers may feel that there are sufficient risks or employee numbers etc. to merit Health & Safety Executive Approved First Aid at Work Training for designated individuals (please refer to the Health & Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981, Approved Code of Practice and Guidance [L74]). This course provides students with a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of first aid practices to give them the confidence when dealing with emergencies that take place within the work place. Students will learn how to assess and manage a diverse range of possible first aid situations and on successful completion of an assessment, the student will be awarded with a Health and Safety Executive Approved First Aid At Work Certificate.

  • First Aid Annual Refresher Course (1/2 Day) - May

    Research has shown that following training, the practical skills of first aiders can deteriorate rapidly. The HSE strongly recommend in the Health & Safety (First-Aid Regulations, Approved Code of Practice and Guidance 2009 (L74), that is good practice for first aiders to carry out annual refresher training during the 3 year certification period. This allows practice of life saving skills and an opportunity to cover any changes in first aid practice.

  • Award for Scottish Personal Licence Holder (SCPLH) - May

    The Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 states that anyone who authorises the sale of alcohol to the public must hold a personal licence. If you wish to obtain a personal licence you need to apply to your local licensing board who are obligated to ask for a number of things in support of your application; this includes proof that you hold a licensing qualification such as the BIIAB SCPLH. The course has been developed in a way that means it meets the training specification of the Scottish Government and can be finished in one day. The training is followed on the same day by a short multiple-choice exam.

    Over 150,000 people die from cardiac arrests in the UK each year. Where an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is used quickly can improve the chance of survival from 5% -to 80%. It is also said that AED’s can be up to 8 times more successful than Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) at restarting the heart. Learners must be physically able to carry out procedures required to meet Resuscitation Council UK assessment criteria. Learners are recommended to attend a one day course after the one year period to keep skills up to date
